5 Ways to “Be the Good” this GivingTuesday

Updated: Nov 22, 2021

November 30 marks this year’s GivingTuesday. GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement that urges people to take one day to do good. Since its creation in 2012, GivingTuesday has inspired millions of people around the globe to join the movement by giving.

Everyone has something to give. No matter how big or small, every act of generosity counts. Want to do your part this GivingTuesday? Here are some great ways that you can “be the good” on November 30 and beyond!

Five ways to show your generosity

There’s no wrong or right way to celebrate GivingTuesday. Here are five ways to give back.

1. Make someone smile

The kindest yet simplest thing you can do to show your generosity is to make someone smile. Whether it’s by saying “hello” to your neighbor or helping a stranger, there are endless ways to put a smile on someone’s face.

Generosity doesn’t always have to require giving money. Being kind, loving, and caring is more impactful than you’ll ever know!

2. Donate to a food bank

Due to the pandemic, a growing number of people rely on food banks to feed themselves and their families. Canned foods, pasta, rice, water, and other items are always in high demand.

Clean out your pantry or buy new food items that can be donated. Your donation means one less person will go to bed hungry.

3. Raise money for an online fundraiser

Want to increase access to clean water? Interested in donating money to a local women's shelter? GivingTuesday is a great time to set up an online donation to a cause that you care about. Ask your social network to donate as well!

4. Volunteer virtually

Virtual volunteering is more popular than ever before. Volunteer your time and services while staying safe and socially distanced. There are many ways to support your favorite causes, right from the comfort of your home! Check out GivingBackEasily.com for some options.

5. Use social media to spread the word

Social media is one of the best platforms to use for spreading the word and making things go “viral.” Do your part this GivingTuesday by informing your friends and family members about the day and how they too can do their part.

GivingTuesday is a day to be caring and generous. We implore everyone to take a minute of their time to be kind and to give, even if it’s just a smile!
